As an important part of sealed containers, bottle caps have strict requirements on the performance of materials. Aluminum plates used for bottle caps need to have good strength, formability, corrosion resistance and food safety, and also need to adapt to subsequent coating, printing and molding processes. Therefore, choosing the right aluminum alloy material is a key link to ensure the quality and function of bottle caps. The following are the characteristics and applicable scope of several commonly used aluminum alloys for your reference:
Among the aluminum plates used for bottle caps, commonly used alloy types include 1060, 3003, 5052, 8011, 3104, etc. (including but not limited to).
1060 aluminum alloy: belongs to the pure aluminum series, has good elongation and tensile strength, is easy to stretch and has stable performance. Commonly used in bottle caps for cosmetics, medicines, alcoholic beverages and other products.
3004 aluminum alloy: moderate strength, good corrosion resistance, commonly used in food and beverage bottle caps.
3105 aluminum alloy: similar strength to 3004, suitable for deep drawing. Widely used in pharmaceuticals and bottle caps with high sealing requirements.
5182 aluminum alloy: has higher strength and good ductility. Often used in combination with 3004 aluminum alloy for bottle caps with higher pressure, such as carbonated beverage bottle caps.
8011 aluminum alloy: excellent processing performance, suitable for coating and printing. Suitable for airless bottle caps and screw caps.
Which alloy to choose depends on the specific application requirements. If you need a low-cost and well-processed material, 3003 aluminum alloy is a good choice; if you need high strength and durability, 5052 aluminum alloy is more suitable; if you need excellent barrier properties and sealing, 8011 aluminum alloy is more suitable; and 3104 aluminum alloy is suitable for the production of anti-theft bottle caps.
